Here’s a look at a quick poster I designed for THE TEXT. A submission for the “Comedy Poster for Amazon Studios” Talenthouse contest. In the end, I didn’t win…but it was a ton of fun and I’m really happy with the way it came together. Look for it in it’s permanent home under my portfolio section sometime soon.

Whipped up this fun little poster after reading this Buzzfeed blog post, which included a “Dogman” holding an ax, among a list of 60 stock images said to be completely unusable. I respectively disagreed and this poster concept was born.

Inspired by Fake Criterions and pulled from Doomed to Be Awesome’s Top Ten Awesome Horror Films, here are Fake Criterion Collection Covers for POLTERGEIST, ALIEN, HELLRAISER, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and THE DESCENT (#6-10 on the list.) My goal is to design the entire top ten list over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for 1-5 over on my Tumblr.

Just discovered that my poster design for GERRYMANDERING is on a list of Top 40 Posters of 2010 by Movie Poster of the Week. Gotta say, feels pretty awesome to included in such an amazing group of designers (Some of witch are heroes of mine, including Neil Kellerhouse.) Wow! File under “Made My F**king Day!”

This year I was lucky enough to participate in the 2010 SXSW/AIGA Austin Film poster awards. This was the second year of this contest. Now apart of the SXSW Film Design Awards, which has awards for both “Excellence in Title Design” and “Excellence in Poster Design.”
While I didn’t win, I feel so inspired by all the amazing design that was part of the show. It is truly amazing to see the quality of work being created for the independent film scene.
